Sauvignon Blanc
2010 Mara White Grass (Sauvignon Blanc)
Dry Creek, Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Knights Valley
This is the premier release of a new project from MARA. I have been searching for years for the right white wine to compliment my Mara Syrage Lot 7 CA Premium Red wine. Mara White Grass is a blend of 4 different vineyards in 4 different appellations of Sauvignon Blanc from Sonoma County. The grapes are from different soils and micro-climate to make this wine very unique.
  • 51.5%--Dry Creek (This vineyard gives and apple mineral character)
  • 24.7%--Alexander Valley (This vineyard shows the tropical fruits and richness)
  • 20.7%--Russian River Valley (This vineyard gives us structure, good acidity and fruits)
  • 3.1%--Knights Valley (This vineyard has the touch of grapefruit and spice that works)
With only fermenting in stainless steel and cold stabilizing, this unique 4 vineyard, 4 appellation blend of Sauvignon Blanc is crisp and clean with a refreshing appeal of candied apples, pears and melon in the nose with nice minerals of stones and shale with the taste of lively citrus fruits of light apricots, peaches, grapefruit and a hint of lemon. This wine can compete in any white wine class for its quality and pricing.
