The vines from this Old Vine Russian River Valley vineyard are maintained with the emphasis of low yields and intense fruit. If you have
had the past vintages of this MARA wine then you know the wines have been packed with flavors.
The color is dense purple with the aromas of black
raspberry, black cherry and chocolate. The wine is full bodied with lots of glycerin. As stated this wine is packed with all the flavor profiles that
this Old Vine Russian River Valley vineyard hands out. The taste has a touch of vanilla, cedar and chocolate with a very nice back flavor of black
licorice. A well structured wine that will benefit by a year or so in the bottle, but drinks extremely well right now. This ranch is right in the heart
of the Russian River Valley and at harvest time goes through 3 microclimates to get all the intense flavors that I am looking for. As always a very small
amount of cases are produced from an average of less than 1/2 ton per acre. Hand crafted cases are 386. |
